Billboard Music Awards Kick-Off Sunday With Prince, Madonna,
Lil Wayne, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, More
Living music legends Prince and Madonna will be honored at this year's Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 19, at 8:00 ET live on ABC.
"There is nothing small about this Sunday night’s Billboard Music Awards at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena airing live on ABC at 8 ET hosted by “30 Rock”’s Tracy Morgan. Just consider for a moment the sheer star power of those appearing: living legends like Prince and Madonna; pop superstars like Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne and Bruno Mars; and the next generation of luminaries like Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Miguel, the Band Perry and Ed Sheeran, among many others.
Prince, one of the most inspirational and influential musicians of all time, will perform at Sunday’s ceremony and is being honored with Billboard’s prestigious Icon Award. Other performers include Taylor Swift, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars, Miguel, Justin Bieber, Pitbull, Christina Aguilera, Selena Gomez, the Band Perry, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Chris Brown, Ed Sheeran, Akon, Ne-Yo, David Guetta and Icona Pop.
Madonna will be honored with the Top Touring Artist award, an achievement earned by the worldwide success of her MDNA tour which sold out all of its 88 date run and was 2012's top-grossing tour with $305 million. It's the pop icon's latest chart landmark in a career full of them, including records for Hot 100 top 10 singles (38 of her overall 56 Hot 100 hits) and Dance Club Songs No. 1s (43). Her MDNA album bowed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 -- her eighth trip to the penthouse -- with sales of 359,000.
Bieber, Swift and Mars are also vying for the Milestone Award, a fan-driven honor that one voter will get to present at the show alongside Cee Lo Green.
Swift, fun. and Maroon 5 top the finalists at the 2013 awards, with each included in 11 categories. Rihanna competes in 10 categories, including Top Artist against Swift, Maroon 5, Justin Bieber and One Direction, while a pair of younger artists -- Carly Rae Jepsen and 1D themselves -- are finalists in nine and eight categories, respectively.
Billboard Music Awards finalists are based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital singles sales, radio airplay, touring, streaming and social interactions on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, VEVO, Spotify and other popular online destinations for music. These measurements were tracked year-round by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Entertainment and Next Big Sound.
Stay tuned for more special Billboard Music Award announcements this week."

Review of the 2012 AMA's
The 2012 American Music Awards took place on November 18th.
Usher opened the show with a medley of songs including "Numb" and "Climax." It was ok and on par with other Usher performances but not the best show opener.
I can't believe that Justin Bieber won best male against Flo Rida, Pitbull, and Usher. I thought Usher would win.
When they announced Best Country Female I knew that Taylor Swift would win. Only days before she had swept away all the awards at the EMA's so it was no surprise there.
Carly Rae Jepson's performance was tolerable because I like her song "This Kiss" but the performance was not very good because she didn't do anything really. She just stood around singing and it was boring to watch.
Kelly Clarkson's medley performance was amazing, she has really come a long way in the last 10 years. Her voice has become so strong and I really enjoyed hearing her sing.
I was happy that Nicki Minaj won for best rap artist and I really loved her outfit, she looked so much like a barbie doll.
Kesha's performance was very good and so was No Doubt's.
I usually don't like when Taylor Swift performs but when she sang "I Knew You Were Trouble" from her new album "Red" I was completely shocked because it is such a pop song that sound like the current music, rather than the boring country songs she always makes.
I was excited for Nicki Minaj to perform but she sang one her new songs that I did not know, rather than any of her great songs from "Roman Reloaded" so I was a little disappointed. I still love her though and thought the song was very powerful with all the choir singers joining in at the end.
I like Pink's new song "Try" and I couldn't believe that she would reenact the music video for her live performance. I have never really seen anyone do that before. The music video is so different to begin with so it was crazy to see that, and she did a great job.
I am shocked that Carly Rae Jepson won the Best New Artist award instead of One Direction because One Direction are so huge right now.
I really liked Justin Bieber's acoustic performance on "As Long As You Love Me" with only the guitar. His voice is getting better and he is on the right track. When it broke into "Beauty and a Beat" it wasn't as special anymore and he was lip syncing the chorus.
I was excited to see Christina Aguilera perform because I love her new song "Your Body" but of course she did not sing it! She sang some other new songs from her new album but I wasn't familiar with them so I didn't really care about the performance.
Pitbull's performance was ok, his songs are always good anyways.
I really loved Jenny Mccarthy's outfit, she looked great.
When Justin Bieber won the award for Artist of the Year and dragged his mom up to the stage with him I didn't even realize it was his mom at first. She is so young that I thought she might be his new girlfriend or something! But it was nice of him to thank her up on stage in front of everyone like that. She must be very proud.
The closing number of the show, "Gangnam Style" by Psy was the icing on the cake. I really like that song and it always excites me to hear it and when they had M.C. Hammer come out and they mashed it up with "Too Legit to Quit" it was just so electrifying. And that Hammer can still dance like he's a young guy!
Overall, I enjoyed the show.

VMAS 2012 REVIEW
The 2012 VMAS took place on Thursday, September 6th.
Rihanna opened the show, showing off a new pixie cut... net very fond of it but she is lucky she can pull off everything.
Of the performances I enjoyed Pink
I liked Frank Ocean
I liked Alicia Keys
I enjoyed Taylor Swift
I was disappointed though that there were not enough big names like Beyonce, Lady GaGa, Justin Bieber, Usher, Ect... at the awards or performing so it was nothing special and kind of boring to me.
The best moment of the show for me was when Nicki Minaj won for best Pop Female, beating big names like Katy Perry, Rihanna, and even Beyonce, and the whole crowd was shocked, she was even shocked herself and she was so grateful and thankful so I am proud of her for her accomplishments.
VMA fashion picks
I loved Alicia Keys' Outfit
Honorable mentions
Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Rihanna
All in all, I didn't like the show so much and considered it a waste of time. Luckily this show is only 2 hours and that is not as long as most other award shows. Maybe it was just because Lady GaGa was not there or that she was snubbed by the show for any nominations, but anyways... maybe the show will be better next year!

Review of Grammys 2012
This will be fast because I did not enjoy the show at all really.
I only liked Chris Brown's performance.
Nicki Minaj's performance was good but I don't like how she copies Gaga.
Bruno Mars was ok.
Didn't like the rest of the show really.
Don't like Adele or how she won all of the awards and Lady Gaga won none.
The tribute to Whitney Houston by Jennifer Hudson was nice.
Bruce Springsteen, Beach Boys, Glen Campbell, Paul McCartney were treats because they are music legends.
Concerning fashion
I liked Taylor Swift's gold dress.
Carrie Underwood's dress was amazing.
Katy Perry's Blue crimped hair was kind of cute.
Rihanna's Plunging V Black dress was nice and blonde hair didn't look bad on her.
And of course Lady Gaga was gorgeous and I am glad she was there but I am sad for her that she did not win or perform.

The VMAS!
Lady GaGa was nominated for 13 awards last night at the VMAs, becoming a record for most award nominations. She went home with 8 awards in total. 2 nominations were for her performance in Beyonce's "Video Phone" music video, so it was more like GaGa won 8/11.
Way to go momma monster, I don't know how you ever thought you weren't going to win! Every time they showed the nominees and GaGa was included I felt so much suspense but when she began winning each award I knew she would reign over everyone and take them all!
I am a bit disappointed that she was not a performer because I knew she would have done something amazing, I hope she will perform next year.
Overall, I liked the show. There were several performances that were boring and I wanted to change the channel but I tried to keep my calm... LOL!
These are the outfits Lady GaGa wore for the ceremony
My favorite moment was when GaGa won her last award and revealed the title of her upcoming album and sang a verse from the song! Her voice was so amazing!!!
Born This Way
I Loved the performance by Usher
Loved Eminem
The others were okay. Except I hated Taylor Swift's boring performance and overall boring voice that is really nothing special... I don't know why they let her waste our time. And Florence + Machine... she has a good voice but I never heard of her and couldn't enjoy her performance because it was a little too weird.
Justin Beiber... apparently he was lipsyncing... LOL well I'm not a fan of his although I'm not a hater, I respect the boy and thought his performance was okay, but it wasn't cool that he would be lipsyncing. However his voice has changed and gotten a bit deeper and surely will get way deeper over time (I don't know what will happen to his career but we will have to wait and see). I liked when he played the drums because I didn't know he could play... so yeah I am neutral with him.
The Host... Chelsea Handler... I didn't really like any of her "jokes" which were more like insults. I thought her entrance was kind of funny though when she came down from the ceiling with a house on her head to Bad Romance, which was an obvious impression of GaGa.
Kanye West... well he was last to perform and there was a lot of hype about what his performance would be like and if Taylor Swift would try to interrupt him. I did kind of like his performance although when I heard him start singing the chorus of his new song "Runaway"
"Let's have a toast for the douchebags,
Let's have a toast for the assholes,
Let's have a toast for the scumbags,
Every one of them that I know
Let's have a toast to the jerkoffs
That'll never take work off
Baby, I got a plan
Run away fast as you can"

I was like "Ummmmm what?????"
But I still think it was a pretty interesting performance and worth the wait, I guess.
Let us still not forget what he did to Taylor Swift last year!
Aside from that, I really loved the futuristic VMA set and loved that Deadmau5 was deejaying the whole event.
Well, what else to say except Congratulations Lady GaGa, my mother monster, we did it honeybee!
On that note, I will leave you with a video of her famous performance from last years VMAs
