Mysterious Twitter account posting Prince songs warned by attorneys to stop

Article.

"In the past few days Prince songs have oddly shown up on Twitter. In what some fans thought was an account run by the actual star, the new music has those fans who love the celebrity delighted. Since January 6, the mysterious account on Twitter called 3rd Eye Girl has been posting Prince remixes. On Tuesday the mysterious Twitter poster got a wake up call from Prince’s attorneys.

“Fight or flight?” tweeted 3rd Eye Girl from the official Twitter account on Tuesday. Along with the message was a letter written by legal counsel in Los Angeles demanding the Prince songs and videos be removed from the Twitter and Facebook accounts immediately. Threatening legal action, the letter reflecting on serious copyright infringement.

While some artists have embraced the technology of Twitter and other online mediums, Prince hasn't warmed up to the idea. However, fans are suspecting this account might have been under the radar of the popular star as it has shared a few interesting music clips and didn't get the permission needed. This included a distinctive version of his latest single, Rock and Roll Love Affair, then there was a black and white rehearsal clip and all of the releases are rare Prince moments."
